Rather than presenting polished performances alone, it invites audiences behind the curtain of the creative process, allowing them to witness musical ideas as they emerge, evolve, and take shape in real time.
Admission is always free. Donations help us continue bringing adventurous jazz to the Evanston community.

Why I created Donovan’s Garage
I created Donovan’s Garage to bring culturally rich, educational jazz events to Evanston at no cost to the public — as my way of giving back to the city that has been my home for the past sixteen years.
At a time when civic connection and public generosity feel especially important, Donovan’s Garage is my particular expression of love for Evanston. It is one way of saying that each of us can contribute something to the public good.
This is the contribution I am able to make.
